Sept 11 Results Posted

E-mail Print PDF

Results are posted from the Sept EOTT.  I'll be working on the Season results next.  Season standings are computed off your best 4 times, and you need a minimum of 3 events to be included in the standings.  The winner in each category will get a certificate and award sent to them in the mail.

I wanted to thank Nick Zevchek, Chris Kobus, and Quinn Kert for their help on Sunday.  We had a light crew due to many other events going on in the area, but they really helped make things go smoothly.  Also, our appreciation goes out to our hosts and local help: Deerfield Township, Deerfield Fire, and the Portage County Sheriff's department.  In appreciation, we will make another donation to Portage County Parks.  Thanks to everyone for a great season.  Stay tuned for details on next year.

August 14 Start Times

We may be dodging thundershowers tomorrow.  If the weather is really bad(High winds, lightning, poor visibility) ,we'll make a decision on whether or not to wait it out or call it off.  But, we will still do the event in rain.  We recommend putting some blinky lights on the bike to mak yourself more visible in low light.  For those who pre-registered, you can find your start times at the link below:

EOTT Changes for August 14

E-mail Print PDF

After reviewing our lessons learned list from the State Championships, we decided to make a few minor changes to the EOTT:

1) We've moved registration up to 6:45am and will close by 7:30am.  This will give us more time to set up the race and scoring, have a pre-race meeting, and make sure that our volunteers and police officers have their instructions and are out on the course.

2) We are moving the finish line closer to the town hall.  This will lengthen the course by 800 feet.  We'd like riders to stay far to the right when they cross the finish line and pedal past the start house before turning around.  This will also move the finish line to a point where the speed limit on the road is reduced to 35mph.

3) We're going to position additional officers on the course to help with intersections that we're worried about.  More signage will be placed around the event.

4) Our goal is to get awards and prizes out there, and get the site cleaned up by 11am.
